Formative high school hits such as <em>Dawson's Creek</em>,<em> Gilmore Girls</em>,<em> One Tree Hill</em>, and<em> The OC</em> dominated the airwaves.</p><p>By the late '00s, however, a noticeable shift in teenage media consumption occurred — and, as a result of it, teen dramas became less about high school and more about excessive wealth and destructive behavior.</p><p>Enter <a href="https://screenrant.com/tag/gossip-girl" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong><em>Gossip Girl</em></strong></a>.
