Hayley Atwell reveals how her character, Peggy Carter, would have defeated Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The actress first portrayed Agent Carter in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, reprising the role in multiple films and headling the ABC series, Agent Carter (among other appearances). Over the past handful of years, she has become a fan-favorite, and many would be interested in seeing Atwell return to the MCU down the line.
Sadly, Peggy passed away prior to the events of Infinity War, but if she were around to help Earth’s Mightiest, there’s no denying she would have some ideas on how to deal with the Mad Titan’s quest to bring balance to the universe. While Agent Carter was never afraid to take part in the action, Atwell has a far less conventional method to stop Thanos.
While at ACE Comic Con in Seattle (via ComicBook), Atwell talked about what Agent Carter would do to defeat Thanos. Instead of taking the villain down with a physical approach like most of the Avengers tried to do, Atwell says that Peggy would have taken a more mental approach.
“I think she’s maybe just give him a therapy session. I think she would help him celebrate his differences. I think she would give him a little red lipstick and say that it works wonders for me when I’m having a bad day.”
Agent Carter may have been fortunate enough to not witness the events of Infinity War, but fans have been itching for more of her. The show was canceled back in 2016 after only two seasons. While the show got moderate reviews from fans and critics, fans petitioned for the show to move to Netflix shortly after the cancellation was announced. Peggy Carter could definitely return in a future movie since Marvel characters are often resurrected or featured in flashbacks, but fans will just have to wait and see what happens especially since Atwell isn’t positive she would return to the role of Agent Carter. For now, fans will just have to reminisce about the good times she had with Steve Rogers.
